Communications Internship

Closes 31st May 2023

About us
Coast Communications is an award-winning communications company that specialises in strategy, planning, critical interventions and risk preparedness plans, along with promotional campaigns and media relations. We have a wealth of experience in supporting major infrastructure projects and have specialist knowledge in planning, policy, technical processes and industrial relations. We are offering a year long placement. The successful candidate will be involved with supporting our digital communications as well as undertaking research, copywriting, analysis and report writing.

Job description

As an intern at Coast Communications your responsibilities may include:

  • Digital communications – Providing content for Coast’s own social media accounts and helping to manage the pages of clients. This could be Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and others. In some cases, this can also include maintaining a number of small websites for clients; often these sites need posts adding to them, reviewing or maintaining in order to keep them up to date. All training will be given as needed.
  • Research tasks – background research on industries, geographic locations, and businesses in order to provide a clear background picture for clients.
  • Copywriting – Writing proposals for account managers and preparing reports to be sent to clients, compiling information into concise and digestible documents for clients, ensuring they have up to date and reliable information.
  • Analysis – Monitoring and analysing trends in industries and using previous research to create transformative content, adding value to the raw information and tailoring information to individual clients.
  • Working with others – from events to consultations, we like the team to experience new opportunities, and this is a good way to learn about transferable skills and employment prospects. We regularly work away from the office and candidates should be prepared to spend a few nights away at client events assisting other members of the team.

Salary and benefits

  • Salary to be negotiated
  • 28 days annual leave (inc bank holidays)
  • Pension contribution

Qualifications

  • This is a placement year so will need to be relevant to applicant’s degree
