Rowcroft Hospice
Rowcroft Hospice provides specialist care and support to people with life-limiting illnesses in South Devon. In 2021, the hospice set out to enhance the hospice experience further with outline plans to remodel the Inpatient Unit facilities, and to widen its care and extend its reach in the community through the development of a specialist dementia and complex nursing home, elderly living accommodation and community facilities.
It was important to Rowcroft that the opinions of the local community and stakeholders were taken on board to ensure its care evolves in a way that will best support everyone who needs the hospice in the future. Coast was engaged to manage the consultation process, organising and promoting a series of public engagement events, as well as setting up a project-specific website and producing content for press releases, FAQs, exhibition boards and briefings. We also produced the Statement of Community Involvement, which was submitted with the planning application.
When the planning application was submitted in June 2022, 90% of feedback from the consultation process was in support of the proposals.
