Take a look at new plans for Lostock Works1st July, 2015
Local people are being invited to comment on REnescience Northwich, a proposed bioresource facility on part of the Lostock Works site.
Two public exhibitions will be held in Lostock Gralam for people to find out more about the proposals and meet the project team. The exhibitions will be held on:
* Thursday 9 July, 2pm to 6.45pm at Lostock Gralam Community Centre, Stubbs Lane, CW9 7PU.
* Saturday 11 July, 10am to 4pm at Lostock Sports & Social Club, Works Lane, CW9 7NW.
Using DONG Energy’s patented ‘REnescience’ technology, the facility will recover resources from waste and generate renewable electricity through treatment with enzymes, mechanical sorting and anaerobic digestion. The facility does not involve incineration and DONG Energy is keen that as many people as possible come to the exhibition and comment on the proposal.
Forms will be available at the exhibitions so that residents can give feedback on the proposals. People can also comment by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or writing to PO Box 357, Saltash, PL12 9AQ. The closing date for comments on these exhibitions is Sunday 16 August 2015.
The proposed facility would be built on the site formerly the subject of a planning application by Viridor and would replace that proposal. The plant will produce biogas and generate approximately 5MW of renewable electricity in addition to the materials for recycling.
