Free support to speed business growth in Somerset12th November, 2012
Connecting Devon and Somerset is launching a new programme of support to help businesses unlock the benefits of superfast broadband.
The programme is part of a drive to ensure that businesses take advantage of the region?s emerging superfast broadband infrastructure, which has the potential to open up new markets, enable skills development and improve working practices, driving profitability and growth.
Some of the many bottom line benefits include more effective marketing, increasing sales and productivity, enhanced staff flexibility through home and remote working, and increased collaboration.
Free for businesses throughout Somerset, the package includes an initial one-to-one mentoring diagnostic session, to help businesses explore the potential gains of using superfast broadband effectively. Further mentoring sessions are available to help progress those businesses with ambitious growth plans.
The package also includes skills development workshops, with practical demonstrations of what works, insights into the latest applications, tools and devices, and learning on a wide range of topics, including
e-commerce, cloud computing, marketing, web and social media.
The fully funded support on offer to businesses is being delivered by YTKO, an award-winning business consultancy with offices throughout the South West. Businesses keen to learn more about Somerset?s new broadband capabilities are being invited to get involved through a series of free introductory events, starting in Frome on 19 November and followed by Shepton Mallet on 3 December. Further events around the county are currently being scheduled, and details will be regularly updated on the CDS website.
