Website Health Check For Devon's Small Businesses
7th December, 2010
Small businesses are being offered free guidance improving their web presence through Devon County Council's Digital Devon project.
Designed for small businesses in the marine and renewables industries, the programme includes information and advice on website development and an invitation to a 'Digital Matters' networking seminar.
Free information and advice on website development can be found at www.devonwebhealth.co.uk.
Taking place on 12th January at the Watermark Centre, Ivybridge, the free seminar will include presentations on digital marketing and website optimisation and a Q&A session with the expert speakers.
Councillor William Mumford, Cabinet Member for Economic Regeneration and Strategic Planning, said: “The Website Health Check programme has already helped many small businesses with sound, easy to understand advice. Online business is a growing part of Devon's economy, and one that with our predominantly rural environment, we cannot afford to ignore.
"The seminar is a good opportunity to network with like minded businesses and show how important websites and e commerce are to the county's marine and renewables sectors."
As a follow up to the seminar, delegates will be offered further independent advice with a free 'one to one' telephone consultation providing bespoke guidance on website development.
Jim Masters, from Devon Maritime Forum said: "The phone call consultation session was incredibly interesting and valuable. It was clear, concise and focused and we will definitely be acting on the advice. My only regret is not having the consultation sooner."
The programme is funded by Devon County Council to support the county's marine and renewables industry.
Places at the seminar are limited so early booking is recommended to avoid disappointment, please email paul.baker@devon.gov.uk for further information or telephone 01392 383428.
