The Heart of the South West Partnership has congratulated the other partnerships that have been successful in their application for Enterprise Zones.

Tim Jones, Chair of the Partnership said: ”Of course we are naturally disappointed that our bids did not achieve funding, but they are still well-founded propositions that have many strengths. The field was highly competitive with 29 very strong bids and funding limited to only ten zones.

“We are very much in the active process of planning and prioritising areas of work for the partnership, so it is a useful time to review the proposals, and to consider the areas that may need some further work to emphasise their value and merits.

“It has been a useful exercise on the whole, bringing people together to look at the partnership area, assessing our potential for growth and regeneration, and where we may need to focus support. “
