With over 2,500 responses within four days, the Connecting Devon and Somerset Superfast Broadband campaign is really taking off.
After launching on Monday 6 February, residents and businesses from across Devon and Somerset have been taking the online survey and phoning the hotline 0844 4636887 to register their plea for superfast broadband services.
The campaign is run by Devon and Somerset County Councils in partnership with North Somerset, Plymouth and Torbay Councils
Somerset County Councillor David Hall / Devon County Councillor Will Mumford said: “ We are very thrilled by the response so far and I’d like to thank all those that have responded. This is tremendous news and shows that there is substantial demand for superfast broadband. It’s vital we have the whole picture though, so we need to ask as many people as possible to take part.
“It’s a short survey and free to take part – people can either log on, or call 0844 4636887 to contribute to the survey. As part of the research, the speed of your current broadband will be measured, so you know what you’re actually getting at the moment. We also want to know about what you use the net for at present and what you could do if it was faster and more reliable. It’s very simple and we’ll talk you through it – just ring or click to sign up!”
The survey will run until 29 February. Data collected will be used to help the roll out of a new superfast broadband network, so that suppliers can work with communities and businesses across the two counties to improve overall speeds, with everyone receiving superfast services by 2020.
